The Romanes Integration Group Ireland is a grassroots, community based organisation dedicated to promoting justice, social inclusion, empowerment and equality for the Roma community in Ireland. Established in Cork in September 2011 the group currently comprises a Management Committee and a group of around 40 Roma men, women and children from Cork City. The management committee is made up of both elected representatives from the Roma Community and members of Irish and other nationalities in Cork city. The group is in the process of having the group formally registered as a limited company and as a charity. We currently meet at the Blackpool Community Centre in Cork City but we outreach to other parts of the country when we can. We currently have no funding and operate on a completely voluntary basis.
